In this chapter, the author examines the teaching of global and international affairs in India and highlights the need for change. The author states that there is an urgent need to focus on global affairs teaching beyond South Asia and the USA and highlights the advantages of doing so. Until India does not build up a corpus of wide-ranging thematic and geographical area experts within its academia, it has no future as a prominent global player.
