Scientists are reluctant to read articles without good reason. The first places many look are the title and abstract but also—importantly—figures. These three elements encapsulate a study. This chapter provides recommendations for writing these often-underrated parts as well as what makes a good figure.
Oxford Scholarship Online requires a subscription or purchase to access the full text of books within the service. Public users can however freely search the site and view the abstracts and keywords for each book and chapter.
