In his “Supralapsarianism, or ‘O Felix Culpa’,” Alvin Plantinga proposes a theodicy: God aims to create a world that rises to a certain magnificent level of value; however, that level of value is achieved only by the Incarnation and Atonement, and these two tremendous goods require the Fall, sin, and the consequences of sin—evil and suffering. Kevin Diller and Marilyn McCord Adams have offered challenging objections to this theodicy. In this chapter, I invoke a position known as skeptical theism in an attempt to show that, whereas Plantinga is not in an epistemic position to endorse the Felix Culpa theodicy, neither is Diller or Adams in an epistemic position to reject that theodicy.
