This chapter presents excerpts from James Robe's A Faithful Narrative of the Extraordinary Work of the Spirit of God, at Kilsyth, and Other Congregations in the Neighbourhood, Near Glasgow, a detailed account of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the town of Kilsyth in western Scotland in the spring of 1742. Robe, the minister of Kilsyth, described the “surprising dispensation of grace” at his parish, suggesting that it was a continuation of the earlier religious awakening at Cambuslang.
