This chapter describes events during Dorothy's attendance of Girton College in 1913. Dot went up to Girton to read math. To become a mathematician she had to do very well in the marathon Mathematical Tripos. The first part of the Mathematical Tripos exam was, and still is, taken by all mathematics students at the end of their first or second year. Students seeking honors took, and still take, Part II at the conclusion of their third year. The top thirty scorers on Part II of the Mathematical Tripos are called Wranglers. Dot Wrinch was Girton's only Wrangler in 1916.
