This chapter discusses the three subdisciplines of archaeology integrated with wetland archaeology: archaeobotany, archaeozoology, and geoarchaeology. It highlights some of their methodological approaches, comparing them with the results obtained in a number of projects. It also deals with dating of waterlogged remains and demonstrates how synergistic collaboration between the various disciplines has achieved remarkable results via two case studies: the current research in textile studies and the well-preserved lacustrine settlement of Arbon-Bleiche 3, Lake Constance.
