This chapter introduces us to the book, which reflects on research on workplace pro-environmental behavior researched within the fields of organizational behavior and industrial-organizational psychology. Specifically, this chapter outlines the perils associated with climate change, the psychological underpinnings of the anthropogenic causes of climate change, and consequently the need for more research investigating how organizations can positively affect climate change through employee environmental initiatives. The chapter concludes by providing a synopsis of each section of the book and corresponding chapters.
