Chapter 6 argues that healthy agency can be used as the representative good for basic justice, replacing income and wealth, pluralistic accounts of basic goods, and various other metrics. It argues that healthy agency is comprehensively implicated in all the other goods by which progress toward basic justice is typically measured, and a metric based upon it can be used effectively in public policy contexts.
