The chapter reviews the functionality of corpus tools used for lexicographic purposes. After a brief history, it discusses how the corpora have to be prepared for some of the features to work. An overview of leading tools and their basic features is presented, followed by a more detailed description of the features that are targeted mainly at lexicographers. Particular attention is paid to the features of the Sketch Engine, currently the leading corpus tool for lexicographers. User-friendliness of corpus tools is also addressed, as this topic has become more relevant as corpus tools have become more complex. The chapter concludes with a discussion on how corpus tools of the future might be designed.
