When discussing Chapter 27 and the rationale of this book, it was realized that there were differences expressed here regarding the contribution mechanistic insights can make to life history evolution. It was suggested that life might be more interesting if a rebuttal to some of Chapter 27's claims was made and if an answer to that was provided. This postscript summarizes this discussion.
