The epilogue evokes the later lives of individuals close to the Rolands who survived them, e.g. Bosc, Bancal, Champagneux and Lanthenas, the adoption and marriage of Eudora Roland, and the publication of her mother's memoirs. A concluding few pages draw out the key elements in this biography: the nature of the marriage, the extent of the unusual collaboration of a man and woman in revolutionary politics, and the controversies surrounding their political role.
