This chapter discusses writings published over Jean-Marie's signature. His wife moves from copy-editing and research to more active participation. Subjects include Roland's travel journals, essays on technical subjects, further conflict with Holker, and his important contribution to Panckoucke's Encyclopédie méthodique, which attracts the attention of Jacques-Pierre Brissot, initiating a long correspondence., Roland delivers several papers to the Lyon Academy, in which Marie-Jeanne's influence appears. Reference is also made to her unpublished writings, including her account of a visit to England.
