This chapter presents the author's own story about being diagnosed with dementia at age sixty-five. For the past twenty-five years, in the National Health Service (NHS), she worked in psychiatry of older people, latterly as a consultant psychiatrist in Leeds for over twenty years. She looked after older people with many mental health problems, but inevitably a large number with dementia. She knew the implications of a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and of other types of dementia. She talks about support for dementia, living with dementia, person-centred care, and spiritual well-being.
