This chapter considers the possibility that a maser/laser amplifier in space is converted to a generator (oscillator) by means of a positive energy feedback provided by a small scattering of electromagnetic radiation back to the amplifying medium. Topics discussed include noncoherent scattering feedback, resonant scattering feedback, space masers with scattering feedback, and space lasers with resonance scattering feedback.
