This chapter discusses a person's image and their meaning. A person's image represents their meaning in the world but it might reasonably be objected here that we all of us have a great deal of difficulty in establishing that meaning when we are alive, never mind when we are dead. Death takes away our power and delivers us powerless into the hands of what it is convenient to call posterity. Death comes how and when it will and immediately gives a final shape or pattern to a life which it never had before.
