This chapter analyses the impact of the war in neighbouring Bosnia & Herzegovina, and the role played by international organisations (such as the OSCE) in maintaining an uneasy peace in the Sandžak while attempting to find a solution to the ‘Sandžak Question’. It includes an overview of internal political developments in the Sandžak and the worsening relationships between Serbs and Muslims in specific areas of the Sandžak.
