This chapter deals with the time reversal symmetry, which is somehow different from space inversion, due to the fact that the description of physics is in terms of time evolution. The anti-unitarity of the corresponding operator in quantum theory leads to some complications, and some pages are devoted to the discussion of the formalism to make these clear. The tests of this symmetry are also somewhat peculiar, and require special care to ensure that other effects faking asymmetries are properly taken into account. Suggested further reading and exercise problems are provided at the end of the chapter.
