This chapter takes up two topics on tense. The first is the interaction of tenses in the main and subordinate clauses of indirect discourse sentences and propositional attitude sentences, and the related phenomenon of tense sequencing in English. The second is the extension of the quantificational approach sketched for the simple tenses to the perfect tenses, and its relation Reichenbach's account.

Keywords:   tense sequencing, past perfect, present perfect, future perfect, Reichenbach
