This chapter represents a higher-level analytical attempt that aims to link relevant study findings to other accounts of programmatic change in health care contexts and thus participate in a in a wider debate concerning radical organizational change. This chapter attempts to reexamine the dynamics of transformation and reproduction in organizations and bring the conclusions to a broader perspective and wider theoretical generalization. The chapter explains how the empirical findings of the study go against the findings on change programmes in health care contexts. Reengineering has been presented as a strategic choice where the senior management in the hospital aims to promote improvement in hospital processes and performance, which is consistent with the results of other studies. The study emphasizes the importance of recognizing the importance of agency at the highest levels of organizations.
