This chapter aims to summarize, to comment upon, and draw some conclusions from the material contained in the earlier parts of the book, to which are added some personal reflections on the current position of state sovereignty in the international order. If these comprise the final act, an early scene within it will relate to the views of the individual whose life and work are honoured in the earlier pages of this book.
