This chapter discusses the nature of information, which starts with the point of perspective. Almost everyone will have different perspectives. Someone may see information very differently to another person looking at the same subject, for the more experienced someone becomes in his/her activities, the more difficult it becomes to exchange perspectives with another. The author continues the chapter by presenting an information perspective, with its value derived from the difference between information and other goods, and both requires and provides another perspective from another source. The chapter also explains the very basic problem of obtaining information (all information is equally desirable, but only some is wanted), and explains that demand for information is expressed in some degree of ignorance. The chapter continues with information's role and its effect in the world of economics.
