Some will be new challenges such as climate change. This chapter outlines some of the changes that have been predicted for the next twenty years. Topics covered include the global burden of disease; changes in the burden from 1990—2020; the social determinants of health; primary health care; and agenda for action, the challenge of implementation, and future challenges.
