Dying and Rising for All?
This chapter argues that Jesus interpreted and anticipated his violent death in advance as somehow proving redemptive for Jews and Gentiles alike. At some point Jesus started to anticipate his violent death due to several predictions or prophecies of the event. These prophecies include his portrayal of himself as a tragic bridegroom down to the last supper with his apostles. Faced with death, Jesus understood that his suffering and death are representative and redemptive service for all the others. He also knew that his death meant human salvation.
