This chapter highlights several outsiders who are remembered with respect for what they did in priestly, prophetic, or other ways. From the Book of Genesis and beyond, the names of Noah, Melchizedek, Jethro, Jonah, and Naaman are included among those who perform priestly or at least cultic acts which clearly win the divine approval. In the case of Noah, he followed God's order which is to make an ark and disembark from it along with his family and some chosen animals. Meanwhile, Melchizedek blessed Abraham and did so in the name of ‘God the Most High’. However, Jethro visited Moses and gave him advice on the administration of the law, and offered a sacrifice to God.
