This chapter begins by mentioning some weaknesses in the supervaluationist theory of the previous chapter, especially regarding compositional principles. Some of the weaknesses can be improved upon by complications in the theory, and there are some choices of detail to be made. A classification is made between weak, medium, dual-medium, and strong supervaluation theories. Revision-rule theories are discussed and given an analogous classification.

Keywords:   supervaluation fixed points, truth rules, compositional principles, revision rules, soundness proofs
