This chapter makes a case for a kenotic account of the Incarnation, noting that if God is eternal, then kenosis is indistinguishable from the traditional theology of the hypostatic union. The universe-fibres postulated in the previous chapter provide a hypothesis about kenotic Incarnation, as well as for a partial reverse of kenosis, the Exultation. The question of whether the Incarnation and Resurrection are contrary to the natural order is discussed, as well as the salvation that results from kenotic Incarnation. After that, two further topics are touched on: inspiration by the Holy Spirit and the real presence in the Eucharist. An appendix explains why transubstantiation is rejected.
