This chapter focuses on the following sceptical move: that of arguing that if something can sometimes be the case, it is conceivable that it could always be the case. Or, more pertinently, if one can sometimes believe that P even though P is not the case, it is possible that one could always believe that P even though P is not the case. I will call this type of argument an ‘aggregate argument’, or the attempt to get to a ‘global’ or ‘radical’ sceptical scenario by way of ‘aggregating’ cases of ‘local’ error. I show that such ‘aggregation’ attempts fail, and, hence, that the road from ‘local’ to ‘global’ scepticism is blocked.

Keywords:   ‘local’ and ‘global’ sceptical scenarios, arguments from perceptual illusion, the ‘veil-of-appearances’ sceptical argument, epistemological disjunctivism, neo-Mooreanism
