This chapter examines the new regulatory framework in the EU and notes that while the Directive creates an opportunity to increase the availability and awareness of quality CADR entities, it also poses the risk of undermining consumer trust in the whole CADR system if traders refuse to participate in CADR processes, if greater competition between ADR entities leads to forum shopping, and if the procedural guarantees are not adequately monitored.
