Ireland has transposed the consumer ADR Directive into national law. Section B of this chapter maps the Irish CADR landscape in the lead up to implementation in further detail, focusing on the existing CADR bodies and analysing their potential to survive as notified ADRs under the Directive. Section C examines the Irish implementing measures focusing on specific aspects. Section D considers the impact of the implementation in Ireland and considers calls for further steps to be taken at national level to give effect to the spirit of the Directive and to develop Irish CADR in a coherent way, including establishment of a national Consumer Ombudsman. Section E is a summary of conclusions.
