This chapter discusses the work relationships between workers and the management system. It presents an extreme case of the principle by which each individual strives to shape the working organization according to his own conception of his needs and duties. For the individual himself, this could be done most economically by limiting ‘the others’ involved in each working occasion — each case for decision — to one. A form of management was therefore adhered to which consisted in the main of a system of relationships involving two people, with one always the head of the firm.
