This chapter discusses more of Alfonso's military efforts against his brothers and enemies who were held in Castile. The chapter also includes a description of the state of the naval fleet, which was revealed to the monarch and to the public on September 6. However, it was also shown that the fleet was not completely ready, causing Alfonso to announce he would leave for Valencia and Aragon. Another event covered in this chapter is the separation of Alfonso and his wife, Maria.
