The regulation, management, and development of water resources in general comes within the purview of state governments. This chapter covers three issues — the management and development of inter-state rivers, the adjudication of inter-state water disputes, and interbasin transfers of water. While the first two issues are covered by specific statutes, the third issue is not covered under any specific law and is still largely at a preliminary planning stage.
