Developing Systemic Recovery Skills
Developing Systemic Recovery Skills
This chapter builds on the previous two chapters in addressing individual recovery from mobbing and the utilization of organizational support systems in responding to mobbing. It outlines the systemic intervention skills that professionals and organizations need to develop to provide platforms for sustained individual and organizational recovery from mobbing. A discussion is provided of integrative individual–organizational psychotherapeutic considerations and specific organizational strategies and interventions designed to provide systemic recovery from mobbing. It is proposed that, since mobbing affects the organizations in which it occurs and to which mobbing victims may be returning, organizationally based interventions aimed at changing a mobbing-prone culture are as crucial as individually based interventions. Organizationally based interventions, including mediation, executive coaching, and other affirmative anti-mobbing strategies, are described.
