This chapter reports two study that attempts to extend the results of the Dorsey and Coovert (2003) research, which was based on experienced decision makers, to novices participating in training, as well as the adaptation of the lens model to incorporate fuzzy logic and test the hypothesis that feedback based on fuzzy logic that will lead to more improvement in trainee performance than feedback based on regression equations. It also discusses some potential explanations for the mixed findings regarding the usefulness of fuzzy logic in the discussion. This research adds to the body of work illustrating the potential utility a Brunswikian approach can bring to the training research community. In general, although there was no strong evidence in these two studies to advocate the use of fuzzy logic instead of regression to model decision making in the particular training domain, it may still prove advantageous in other domains.
