The first part of this article deals with the history of the organ and technicalities of playing it. The final paragraphs translated from the article, presents a more personal touch. They describe the author's opinion about improvisation based on 20 years of experience as an organist at Madeleine. He improvised practically the whole time, giving free rein to his imagination; and it was one of the joys of his existence.
