This chapter reviews the demographics and trends that are making the role of caregiver to the aged central to the lives of many, with consequences for the well-being of workers and their families, and for the effectiveness of their employing organizations. It explores what workplaces and society have done in response and suggests additional possibilities for both prevention and intervention, and the role social workers can play in achieving their implementation.
