This chapter presents a training curriculum that has been taught as an advanced master's-level course at a graduate school of social work. Parts of this curriculum have been the basis of presentations to community agencies and hospitals, and of postgraduate workshops and courses. Some of the material was developed originally in collaboration with Carlos Sluzki MD, and other senior faculty at the Family Center of the Berkshires, during the years 1990-1995. This curriculum has been used successfully in a variety of settings and with trainees from a variety of clinical disciplines, including social work, psychology, psychiatry, nursing, and family medicine.
