This chapter examines the management and treatment of pain in patients with advanced lung disease. There are generally two main categories of pain in relation to respiratory function and these are nociceptive and neuropathic pain. The main principles of pain treatment suggest that treatment should be chosen according to the pain mechanism and intensity and recommend regular prescription of drugs in order to prevent pain recurrence.
