This chapter concludes with the final recension of Durandus’s Sentences commentary, thus settling the record with Hervaeus and his order. By establishing a comparison between this work and the early commentary, this chapter assesses the effect of the previous years of controversy on the evolution of Durandus’s Trinitarian theology. Although profiting from years of critical exchange, Durandus’s mature position shows few signs of compromise. In general lines, Durandus holds steadfast to his initial insights.
