This chapter synthesizes the results of the four case studies discussed in chapters fifteen to eighteen. It identifies the similarities in the conditions that explain territorial concentrations in high-tech local systems. These involve the role of external economies and the provision of local collective competition goods (LCCGs). The production of LCCGs and governance of high-tech industrial districts are discussed.
