This chapter focuses on the ways of organizing the musical matters of the choir. These include the musical requirements of an audition; how to organize a music library, the structure of rehearsals, first rehearsals, voicing the choir, the seating arrangement to maximize vocal development, and effective music planning for choristers’ summer and day camps. Awards may be presented to choristers annually for excellence in various categories or specific accomplishments. The recognition system of honors and awards for singers may be established by each choir, which determines the appropriate time to make these presentations.
