This chapter discusses the musical contributions of Davidsbund or League of David, a music organization created by Robert Schumann. Stephen Heller dedicated his Rondo-Scherzo op.8 to Florestan and Eusebius, the pseudonyms that Schumann used for the reviews he wrote. Reviews of Florestan and Eusebius also appeared in the Allgemeine musikalische Zeitung, a conservative music journal; however, in an attempt to counteract its extravagant tone, this was not published in full. A more critical and conventional review of Chopin was included in that issue as well.
