Abstract

This book offers a detailed examination of the five year-long legal process which involved the Bohemian priest Jan Hus. Issues of heresy, canon law, and legal procedure are investigated in relation to the Hus process. The book sets out to investigate the charges of heresy against Hus, the nature and legality of the court case which ensued, the implications of the judicial verdict handed down, and the specific theological problems attached to the life and work of the defendant.
