Russia is now the most “engaged” country in Europe, after having been at the bottom of ranked European countries. Russian social networks are actually a combination of blogs and social networks of friends. Blogs can be long and critical forms of communication for political purposes, such as an “internet election.” The future leaders have unique information advantages: they can access all kinds of foreign news sources, and their families often have access to much more news than is shown on the skeletal television news. The resources for information far exceed the Russian norm.
