This chapter examines the frustrating early 1970s, in which Lerner once more channeled energy into projects that were less successful than he had hoped. It talks about his reunion with Frederick Loewe on the unsuccessful stage version of Gigi and the flop movie The Little Prince. Correspondence with his friends Irving Berlin and Leonard Bernstein is also included.
