This chapter provides a critical review of Charles Griswold’s book, Forgiveness. Griswold tries to provide a classical philosophical analysis of the concept: necessary and sufficient conditions. His analysis is criticized and the role of a religious perspective on forgiveness is discussed. Finally, the virtue of forgiveness is explored.
