Abstract

The Church for the World constructs a theology of public witness for Protestant church-communities in the United States by drawing upon the work of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Concerned with the triumphal manner in which many Protestants have engaged the public sphere, the book addresses how the church may offer a non-triumphal witness to the lordship of Christ in our pluralistic society.
