The chapter explains the econometric model used to examine the determinants of China's growth by means of cross-province growth regressions. Section 5.2 explains and justifies the empirical methodology. Section 5.3 discusses the data set and provides summary statistics. Section 5.4 reports the model-selection results, and Section 5.5 presents the specification and results of the baseline equation. Section 5.6 summarizes and concludes.
