Writing the Book of the World

Theodore Sider

Oxford University Press

For purposes of illustration, a worldview is sketched. The joint‐carving notions are those of logic, mathematics, physics, and the notion of joint‐carving itself. The ontology consists solely of sets and points of spacetime. A metaphysical semantics for nonfundamental discourse is sketched, in which terms for ordinary things are taken to refer to sets of spacetime points.

Keywords:   mereological nihilism, metaphysical semantics
