This chapter discusses a variety of topics in optics, such as blackbody radiation, quantum correlations, and quantum optics, with an emphasis on connections with other fields of physics from mechanics to thermal and quantum physics. One problem (Stacking Lenses) shows how stacking together focusing and defocusing lenses into a lens guide may result in an overall focusing effect in direct analogy to the physics in particle accelerators and traps for charged particles.
